Job summary

The Town of Exeter is seeking a full-time Human Resources Generalist to handle essential HR functions across multiple departments. Responsibilities include payroll time entry, onboarding and benefits administration, recruitment support, and maintaining employee records and the HR website.

The successful candidate will manage the MUNIS HR software and demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, high accuracy, confidentiality, and discretion in sensitive matters.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Human Resources or related field.
• Five+ years of experience in a human resources setting or equivalent combination.
• Municipal HR experience preferred.
• Knowledge of MS Office (Word and Excel) required.
• Experience with MUNIS software and union contracts is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Process accurate time entry for payroll.
• Serve as primary contact for onboarding and benefits programs.
• Assist with recruitment and updating employee records and HR website.
• Manage the MUNIS HR software program.
