Job summary

The Mandel JCC of the Palm Beaches is seeking an HR Generalist to join a small, dedicated HR team. You will support the HR Director with employee lifecycle processes including recruitment, onboarding, reviews, training, and offboarding in a nonprofit environment that values community.

This role handles payroll and benefits administration, HRIS maintenance, compliance, and employee relations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, capable of handling multiple priorities, and comfortable evolving

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years in HR, payroll or related field.
• Experience with HRMS/HRIS software (Paycom a plus).
• Non-profit experience is a plus.
• Excellent communication and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Assist the HR Director with employee lifecycle milestones and processes: recruitment, onboarding, annual reviews, training and development, offboarding.
• Identify, plan and attend career fairs or recruitment events for year‑round and seasonal positions.
• Lead Employer Branding planning and execution of activities.
• Work with HR Director and department leaders to develop career pathways.
• Assist in employee relations: coaching managers, conflict management, unbiased investigations.
• Conduct exit interviews, review trends and implement improvements.
• Payroll and benefits: process semi-monthly payroll, benefits and 401(k) administration, vendor communication, recordkeeping.
• Ensure compliance with state and federal employment law and OSHA training, plus annual HR trainings.
• Maintain HRIS configuration and reporting; ensure confidential employee files and audits.
• Create and maintain HR reports including retention, FTE and OT.
