About The Role

Univers is seeking a Payroll/HR Generalist to support a broad range of HR operations across the U.S., with a focus on payroll processing, benefits administration, HRIS management, compliance, and employee lifecycle processes. This remote role requires a detail-oriented professional capable of managing payroll and benefits programs within a multi-state environment while ensuring regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Process accurate bi-weekly and semi-monthly payrolls, including time review, deductions, and adjustments
• Coordinate payroll funding requests and collaborate with Finance for reconciliation and month-end close activities
• Maintain compliance with multi-state payroll tax laws, year-end payroll activities, and tax filings
• Serve as primary contact for payroll inquiries and issue resolution
• Administer U.S. employee benefits including enrollments, changes, COBRA, leaves, and ACA compliance
• Collaborate with benefits brokers on plan design, renewals, and employee communications
• Manage HRIS data integrity, reporting, and system updates primarily via ADP Workforce Now
• Facilitate onboarding and termination processes with accurate documentation and system updates
• Conduct employment verifications and background checks in accordance with regulations
• Partner with insurance brokers on workers’ compensation and ensure compliance with federal/state employment laws
• Support budgeting and benefits cost forecasting activities
  
  

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in payroll, HR operations, or benefits administration, preferably within a multi-state environment
• Proficiency with ADP Workforce Now required; experience with Globalization Partners (GP) is a plus
• Strong knowledge of U.S. benefits regulations such as ACA, COBRA, ERISA, and Canadian employment practices
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills
• Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism
