Job summary

The QTI Group in Madison, WI is seeking a hands-on Human Resources Generalist to manage recruiting, onboarding, leave administration, and employee relations on a 100% onsite basis. You will engage with shop floor staff and leaders, ensuring a positive employee experience and compliant HR practices.

The successful candidate will bring 3+ years of HR experience, strong communication skills, and proficiency with HRIS/Excel. Manufacturing exposure is a plus; relocation is not provided.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field.
• 3+ years of progressive HR experience, ideally with high-volume recruiting in manufacturing.
• Experience administering FMLA and other leaves of absence.
• Strong communication and employee relations skills across all levels.
• Knowledge of federal and state employment laws and HR best practices.
• Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
• Experience with HR systems and data (e.g., Excel, HRIS).
• Union environment exposure is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Lead full-cycle recruiting for hourly roles from sourcing to hire.
• Administer leave programs including FMLA and workers’ compensation processes.
• Coordinate and facilitate onboarding and orientation.
• Respond to employee questions on payroll, benefits, and growth.
• Support employee relations activities including investigations and coaching.
• Plan and support employee engagement activities.
• Conduct exit interviews and manage offboarding documentation.
• Collaborate with HR and leadership to drive process improvements.
• Flexibly support a variety of HR needs as they arise.
