Job summary

The Nuclear Company in Lexington, KY is hiring an HR Generalist to support the full employee lifecycle. You will handle leaves, onboarding, data integrity in UKG, and employee relations in a fast-paced AI-driven environment.

This role partners with the VP and Director of HR to maintain policies, manage compliance, and support talent programs while coordinating contractor work, relocations, and temporary field staff.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in an HR generalist, HR coordinator, or HR operations role.
• Hands-on experience administering leaves of absence, including FMLA and disability coordination.
• Experience with an HRIS platform (UKG strongly preferred).
• Strong organizational skills and ability to juggle multiple cases across two client groups.
• Discretion handling confidential employee information.

Responsibilities

• Administer all employee leaves of absence (FMLA, state/local, personal, military, parental) and coordinate disability claims with our carrier.
• Own onboarding end-to-end — orientation, paperwork, background check verification.
• Lead offboarding, including exit interviews and termination processing in UKG.
• Serve as day-to-day UKG super-user for employee data changes, leave tracking, and terminations.
• Provide first-line employee relations support and assist with enterprise talent programs.
• Coordinate contractor onboarding/offboarding and relocation with our relocation partner.
• Assist with HR compliance and updating the employee handbook and policies.
