Job summary

Sun Chemical Corporation is seeking an HR Generalist to provide comprehensive HR support for the Rockdale, IL site and nearby locations. The role partners with leaders to drive engagement and build a high-performing workforce while travelling as needed to support other sites.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree in HR and at least five years of HR experience, with strong labor relations, talent acquisition, and compliance knowledge. Travel up to 25% is anticipated.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
• Minimum of five years of experience in human resources.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, an HRIS and automated time and attendance platform.
• Strong Talent Acquisition experience and employee advocate mindset.
• Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidelines on company policies, procedures and practices to employees.
• Oversee employee relations issues, disciplinary meetings, and investigations, including disciplinary actions, terminations and conflict resolutions.
• Assist HR Manager with day-to-day labor relations issues and actively participate in contract negotiations for assigned unionized manufacturing sites.
• Lead employee engagement and recognition initiatives.
• Partner with the Global Talent Management team to manage the talent acquisition process, including recruitment, interviewing and hiring, and onboarding of new employees.
• Collaborate with Total Rewards to design base and incentive pay programs and analyze compensation data for adjustments.
• Design and implement employee learning and development programs and facilitate training sessions.
