Job summary

Archdiocese of Denver is seeking an HR Generalist to join the Mission Support Centers team. The role supports employees and leaders across the lifecycle, fostering a positive experience rooted in service, respect, and the dignity of every person.

You will handle recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, benefits, HRIS, records, and compliance while upholding Catholic values and confidentiality. A Bachelor’s in HR/Business and 3–5 years HR generalist experience are expected.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 3–5 years of HR generalist experience.
  • SHRM-CP or PHR certification preferred or plan to certify.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Proficiency with HRIS and Microsoft Office tools.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate recruitment postings, screening, interviews, offers, onboarding, I-9, and employee transitions.
  • Serve as HR resource for employees and supervisors; assist with performance issues and employee relations.

The Archdiocese of Denver is seeking a collaborative, compassionate, and detail-oriented HR Generalist to join our Mission Support Centers team. This position supports employees and leaders throughout the employee lifecycle and plays an important role in creating a positive employee experience rooted in service, respect, and the dignity of the human person.

Key Responsibilities
  • Recruitment & Onboarding: Coordinate job postings, candidate screening, interviews, offers, pre-employment requirements, onboarding, I-9 completion, and employee transitions.
  • Employee Relations: Serve as an approachable HR resource for employees and supervisors while assisting with workplace concerns, performance management, corrective actions, and employee relations matters.
  • Benefits & Leave: Support benefits enrollment, qualifying life events, open enrollment, employee leave programs, workers’ compensation, and employee benefit questions.
  • HRIS & Employee Records: Maintain accurate employee information, process employment and organizational changes, assist with timekeeping and PTO questions, and conduct routine HRIS audits.
  • Compliance & Administration: Maintain confidential employee records and support compliance with applicable employment laws, HR policies, procedures, and documentation requirements.
  • Employee & Mission Support: Build positive relationships across the organization and provide timely, compassionate, and professional HR support in service to employees and the broader mission of the Church.
Requirements
What We’re Looking For
  • Be a fully initiated Catholic in the communion of the Catholic Church and intentionally living out the five precepts of the Church (CCC 2041-2043)
  • Align with the values and mission of the Catholic Church and possess a willingness to practice human resources from this faithful perspective.
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field—or equivalent combination of experience and education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field or equivalent experience.
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in an HR generalist role.
  • SHRM-CP or PHR certification preferred or a plan in place to become certified.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems (Paylocity preferred).
