Job summary

Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) is seeking an HR Generalist II in the HRD Division based at the Beaumont District Headquarters. The role supports a wide range of human resources functions including benefits, onboarding, and employee relations, with travel to field offices as needed.

Responsibilities include leading new employee orientations, interpreting policies, and assisting with training and talent development initiatives.

Qualifications

• 1 year of HR-related experience required (experience can be satisfied by full-time or prorated part-time).
• Licenses/certifications preferred may include HR-related credentials.

Responsibilities

• Supports employee benefits and onboarding processes.
• Visits field offices and conducts new employee orientations.
• Interprets HR policies and ensures compliance with state and federal laws.
• Assists with leave management, employee relations, and training delivery.
• Maintains confidential records and HR data in HRIS (PeopleSoft).
• Provides guidance to management on sensitive issues and performance concerns.
