Job summary

Mount Desert Island Hospital is seeking an HR Generalist I focused on Employee Experience, Engagement and Operations. The role supports staff and leaders across engagement, retention, employee relations, analytics, culture and process improvement, while also handling core HR operations and compliance.

• Associate's Degree required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• SHRM-CP, PHR, or related HR certification preferred.
• Experience Required: Minimum 2 years experience in a Human Resources or other business office environment.
• Special Requirements: Excellent people skills. Experience with Outlook, Excel, Word and Access a must.
• Cognitive Requirements: Ability to multi-task and organize.
• Physical Demands: Light lifting, bending.
• Environment: Office environment.

Summary

The HR Generalist I - Employee Experience, Engagement & Operations supports employees and leaders through a variety of human resources functions with a focus on employee engagement, retention, employee relations, workforce analytics, organizational culture, and continuous process improvement. This position serves as a champion for employee experience while also supporting core HR operational activities and compliance initiatives.
