Job summary

CommonSail Investment Group in the senior housing and healthcare space seeks a Human Resources Generalist to provide day-to-day support to leaders and staff, focusing on employee relations, policy guidance, and compliant HR operations. Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; degree in Human Resources is preferred.
  • 2–4 years of progressive human resources experience required
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently.
  • Working knowledge of employee relations practices, corrective action processes, and basic employment law.
  • Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications; HRIS experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as a first point of contact for leaders and employees regarding HR policies, procedures, and employment-related questions.
  • Provides guidance and coaching to leaders on performance management, corrective action, documentation, and compliance with leave of absence and accommodation requirements (including ADA).
  • Provides guidance to leaders on day-to-day employee relations issues, including attendance, performance concerns, and policy interpretation.
  • Supports in disciplinary actions up to and including terminations, in alignment with company policy and employment laws.
  • Conducts low-level employee relations investigations independently, including gathering facts, interviewing parties, documenting findings, and recommending outcomes.
  • Ensures investigations are handled consistently, confidentially, and in compliance with company standards and applicable laws.
  • Escalates complex or sensitive matters to HR leadership as appropriate.
  • Triages and responds to a high volume of employee and leadership inquiries using the company’s Salesforce case management system, ensuring timely, accurate, and consistent resolution.
  • Administers and supports human resource policies and procedures across assigned communities or departments.
  • Assists with onboarding activities, ensuring a smooth and compliant new-hire experience.
  • Maintains accurate and confidential employee records and HR data related to compensation, benefits, training, recruitment, and employee status changes.
  • Prepares internal employee communications with appropriate oversight.
  • Supports HR Business Partners and HR leadership with projects, audits, and initiatives as needed.
  • Demonstrates a strong understanding of our 1440 company culture and Common Beliefs.

Position Summary:

The Human Resources Generalist provides day-to-day support to leaders and employees within the senior housing and healthcare industry. This role serves as a trusted resource on company policies, procedures, and employment practices, with a strong focus on employee relations, compliance, and operational HR support. The Human Resources Generalist independently manages routine HR matters and conducts low-level investigations with minimal oversight, escalating more complex issues as appropriate. Required Experience for Payroll and Compensation Specialist

General Working Conditions:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to communicate effectively with others, sit, stand, walk and use hands to handle keyboard, telephone, and other equipment and objects. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms. The employee will occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. The noise level in the work environment is moderate. Occasional travel may be required.
