Job summary

QQR Transport in Cincinnati is seeking an experienced HR Generalist to own HR and payroll duties across departments, including recruiting support, onboarding, benefits, and compliance.

You will manage ATS, Paychex PEO relationship, and work with Finance and executives to meet hiring goals while building a scalable HR function for growth.

This role is integral to driver and office staff, with a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities to influence retention and culture.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in an HR generalist or combined HR/payroll role.
• Experience working with a PEO (Paychex strongly preferred).
• Experience administering or working in an applicant tracking system (ATS).
• Working understanding of basic employment law (FLSA, FMLA) and payroll compliance requirements.
• Excellent communication skills — comfortable explaining pay and policy matters clearly to drivers, staff, managers and executives.

Responsibilities

• Own HR and payroll duties supporting all department heads and payroll.
• Administer ATS for posting management, candidate pipeline hygiene, reporting, and interview coordination.
• Own Paychex PEO relationship end-to-end: benefits and payroll coordination, issue resolution, renewals, and escalations.
• Partner with executives and managers to meet hiring goals and build an efficient, high-retention team.
• Administer benefits enrollment and leave management, and respond to related questions.
