Job summary

The Chester County Intermediate Unit seeks an HR Generalist to deliver confidential HR support, full-cycle recruiting, benefits administration, and employee relations. Based at the ESC in Downingtown, this role reports to the Human Resources Division and requires collaboration across teams.

Ideal candidates hold a relevant degree and 1–3 years HR experience, with a PHR preferred. Start date is November 2026; schedule is Monday–Friday, 8 AM–4 PM, with salaried status.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HR, business management or related field required.
• 1-3 years HR experience required; 3-5 years preferred.
• PHR certification preferred; clearances required.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook.
• Experience with HRIS, benefits, recruitment, and onboarding processes.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate recruitment for exempt and nonexempt staff and temps.
• Conduct onboarding, benefits review, I-9, W-4, and background checks.
• Handle employee inquiries; assist with ADA accommodations.
• Support benefits administration and leave management.
• Assist with compensation, reporting, and annual statements.
• Lead special HR projects and maintain HRIS records.
