Job summary

Chapa-De Indian Health is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to enhance the employee experience and support supervisors and staff across relations, leaves, and policies.

You will manage leaves, accommodations, and performance coaching while aligning with California and federal wage-and-hour laws. This role involves HR projects, data-driven improvements, and collaboration with a community-focused team in Auburn, CA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required and at least 3 years HR experience.
• 3–5 years in employee relations, leaves, accommodations, workers' comp, performance management, policy interpretation, and coaching.
• At least 3 years HRIS experience and knowledge of system functionality.
• Working knowledge of California and federal wage-hour and employment laws.
• Strong judgment, communication, confidentiality, and time-management.

Responsibilities

• Partner with supervisors and employees on employee relations, performance management, policies, compensation, engagement, and coaching.
• Manage leaves of absence and reasonable accommodations with guidance and legal compliance.
• Coach leaders on employee relations and develop proactive engagement, retention, attendance, and performance strategies.
• Lead HR projects including workplace investigations, compensation analysis, job descriptions, training, and engagement.
• Use HR data, metrics, and technology to identify opportunities and drive improvements.
