HR Generalist: Compliance, Training & Engagement

Job summary

United Against Human Trafficking seeks an HR Generalist to support recruitment, employee relations, and performance management. You will ensure regulatory compliance, coordinate HR programs, and maintain HRIS/LMS data for a busy on-site operation in Houston.

Prospective candidates should have 3–5 years in HR, a degree in HR or related field, and knowledge of Title VII, ADA, FMLA, and safety regulations. Bilingual English/Spanish is strongly preferred; SHRM-CP/PHR is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HR, Organizational Development, or closely related field.
• 3-5 years of progressive HR experience in multiple HR areas, including Employee Relations in warehouse, manufacturing, logistics, etc.
• Working knowledge of Title VII, ADA, ADEA, and regulatory compliance.
• Experience with HRIS; bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and regulations (EEO, ADA, FMLA, FLSA, DOL, WC, TWC).
• Represent HR in unemployment processes (TWC hearings).
• Provide guidance to management on complex HR issues; handle sensitive investigations and terminations.
• Disseminate HR policies and train staff.
• Facilitate learning and development programs for internal employees.
• Analyze HR metrics and report trends to support decisions.
• Administer DOT drug testing and update driver credentials.
• Conduct New Employee Orientation and New Leader Orientation.
• Perform employee offboarding and exit interviews.
• Maintain HRIS and LMS data; manage employee records.
• Process HR reimbursements accurately and timely.
• Coordinate 90-day check-ins with CEO and capture feedback.
• Support recruiting by participating in interviews and events.
• Stay updated on HR trends, regulations, and technology.
• Create and update SOPs; contribute to COOP planning.
• Maintain on-site attendance and reliability.
