Job summary

The Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra is seeking an HR Generalist to support day-to-day HR operations, including benefits administration, onboarding, records management, and compliance.

You will partner with employees, vendors, and internal teams to ensure accurate HR processes, manage Open Enrollment and COBRA, I-9 compliance, and maintain a welcoming, healthy workplace culture. Reports to the HR Manager. Experience with HRIS/payroll systems and strong organizational skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in HR benefits administration and Open Enrollment.
• Knowledge of I-9 compliance and records management.
• Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
• Experience with payroll systems and HRIS.

Responsibilities

• Maintain personnel files and employee records.
• Serve as primary contact for benefit questions.
• Lead administration of the Open Enrollment process and carrier coordination.
• Coordinate benefit enrollments and qualifying life events.
• Reconcile benefit invoices with vendors and carriers.
• Create, maintain, and update HR process documentation and SOPs.
• Assist with new hire payroll setup and timely submission of employment documentation.
• Manage I-9 administration, audits, and compliance activities.
• Provide administrative support to the Chief People Officer and HR/Payroll team.
• Assist with HR-related projects and initiatives as assigned.
• Assist with talent acquisition activities and candidate coordination.
• Manage office functions and organization of HR storage areas.
• Support a healthy and welcoming organizational culture.
• Administer COBRA and other benefit continuation programs.
