Job summary

ECA is seeking an experienced HR Generalist for our Raleigh corporate office. You’ll partner with the Director of HR to manage employee relations, onboarding, performance management, benefits, and compliance in a fast-growing real estate organization.

Responsibilities include supporting recruiting, HR projects, reporting, and daily HR operations while maintaining confidentiality and strong stakeholder communication.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, business administration, or related field required.
  • Minimum five years in a progressive HR generalist role.
  • Strong knowledge of employee relations, investigations, and conflict resolution.
  • Working knowledge of core HR functions (performance, benefits, compensation, policy, compliance).
  • Experience with HRIS and reporting tools; UKG experience is a plus.

  • Manage onboarding, offboarding, eligibility events, and HR transactions.
  • Support performance reviews, goal setting, and recognition initiatives.

About the Role

We’re looking for an experienced, approachable, and highly organized HR Generalist to join our corporate team. This is a full-time, in-office position based at ECA’s corporate office in Raleigh, North Carolina.

The HR Generalist will work closely with the Director of Human Resources and assist with all areas of HR, including employee relations, onboarding and offboarding, performance management, benefits, compliance, reporting, employee engagement, HR projects, and recruiting as needed.

The ideal candidate enjoys being a go-to resource for employees and managers, can balance multiple priorities, and is comfortable working in a fast-paced, growing organization.

What You’ll Do
Employee and Manager Support
  • Serve as a main point of contact for employee and manager HR questions.
  • Provide guidance on company policies, procedures, benefits, payroll, PTO, timesheets, and other HR programs.
  • Support managers with performance-related documentation and corrective action processes.
  • Assist with employee relations concerns, workplace investigations, and conflict resolution, escalating complex matters to HR leadership when appropriate.
  • Partner with Payroll, IT, and other departments to support employee needs.
  • Handle sensitive employee information with professionalism and confidentiality.
HR Operations
  • Coordinate onboarding, new-hire orientation, employee transitions, and offboarding activities.
  • Process employee status changes, organizational updates, and other HR transactions.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and documentation within the HRIS.
  • Assist with benefits administration, leave requests, audits, and compliance-related activities.
  • Support day-to-day HR operations and companywide workforce initiatives.
  • Assist with special projects and other HR-related responsibilities as needed.
  • Assist with recruiting efforts based on the hiring needs of the organization.
  • Partner with hiring managers to understand position requirements and hiring priorities.
  • Create and post job openings, review applications, conduct phone screens, and coordinate interviews.
  • Maintain communication with candidates throughout the hiring process.
  • Assist with offer letters, pre-employment requirements, and new-hire preparation.
  • Maintain accurate recruiting records and monitor open positions and hiring activity.
Performance Management and Employee Engagement
  • Support annual performance review and goal-setting processes.
  • Assist managers with performance management tools, documentation, and deadlines.
  • Coordinate employee recognition, engagement, and retention initiatives.
  • Gather and analyze employee feedback to identify opportunities to improve engagement and the overall employee experience.
  • Partner with HR leadership to implement programs that support employee satisfaction and retention.
Projects and Process Improvement
  • Manage assigned HR projects from planning through completion.
  • Support organizational initiatives, HR system implementations, and policy rollouts.
  • Assist with acquisition integrations, employee transitions, and organizational changes.
  • Identify opportunities to improve HR processes, documentation, communication, and the employee experience.
  • Maintain project trackers and ensure assigned deliverables are completed accurately and on schedule.
Reporting and Analytics
  • Generate and analyze HR metrics and reports.
  • Monitor trends related to turnover, recruiting, onboarding, employee engagement, and other HR activities.
  • Maintain HR dashboards, trackers, and reporting tools.
  • Help identify workforce trends and provide information that supports business and HR decisions.
What We’re Looking For
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • At least five years of progressive HR experience in a generalist or similar role.
  • Strong employee relations experience, including workplace investigations and conflict resolution.
  • Working knowledge of core HR functions, including performance management, talent acquisition, benefits, compensation, policy administration, and employment compliance.
  • Understanding of applicable federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Experience using HRIS platforms and reporting tools; experience with UKG is a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organization, follow-through, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to evaluate situations, identify underlying issues, and recommend practical solutions.
  • Strong business judgment and the ability to support operational leaders.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently while collaborating closely with HR leadership.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive matters professionally.
  • Experience supporting a growing, multi-location, or multi-state organization is preferred.
