Job summary

St. Luke Family of Caring in Oswego, NY is seeking an HR Generalist to support over 300 employees across sites. You will work with the HR Manager to assist with onboarding, benefits questions, and routine HR tasks in a friendly, patient-centered environment.

The role involves processing new hires, enrolling staff in benefits, handling leave and workers’ comp paperwork, and maintaining confidential HR records. On-site, full-time hours with standard weekday schedule.

Qualifications

• HR experience and a college degree are preferred.
• Administrative and customer service skills in an office or healthcare setting help you grow into HR.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks with confidentiality are valued.

Responsibilities

• Process new hires for orientation, background checks, health clearances, and Paycom data entry.
• Assist employees with benefits enrollment and respond to routine questions, reviewing insurance bills.
• Prepare paperwork for leaves and workers’ comp, and follow up on outstanding items.
• Answer calls and maintain confidential HR records; support managers with inquiries.

$20–$25 per hour | Full-time, on-site | Monday–Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. | 37.5 hours per week

We’re hiring an HR Generalist to support more than 300 employees across St. Luke’s nursing home, St. Francis Commons, and Bishop’s Commons. You’ll work directly with our HR Manager and help employees and managers with everything from getting a new hire ready for orientation to sorting out a benefits question.

What you’ll do

• Get new hires ready for day one by processing paperwork, coordinating background checks and health clearances, entering information in Paycom, and scheduling orientation.
• Help employees enroll in benefits or update their coverage, answer routine questions, and check insurance bills against enrollment records.
• Prepare employer paperwork for leave requests and workers’ compensation claims, and follow up on outstanding items.
• Answer calls, respond to employee and manager questions, and keep confidential HR records organized.

What you’ll bring

You enjoy helping people, catch the small details, and follow through when several things need your attention at once. HR experience and a college degree are preferred.
