Job summary

Mom’s Meals is seeking an HR Generalist to support the full spectrum of human resources functions, ensuring a positive, productive, and compliant workplace. This role serves as the first point of contact for HR related questions.

This on-site Ohio role partners with managers and HRBP to manage onboarding, employee records, policy inquiries, benefits, leave, and continuous improvement of HR programs. The position emphasizes employee engagement and adherence to company values.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or 5+ years HR experience.
• Knowledge of general HR practices.
• Proven ability to juggle multiple tasks and work streams to deliver results.
• Experience with HR systems including timekeeping, payroll and benefits.
• Strong customer service orientation and communication skills.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Effective presentation and communication skills.
• Experience using Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.

Responsibilities

• Conduct orientations for new hires and process onboarding in HRIS and I-9/E-Verify.
• Maintain employee files and records in electronic format.
• Serve as first point of contact for employee/manager questions about process, policy, compensation, benefits and performance.
• Partner with HRBP to resolve issues and drive employee engagement.
• Handle tier 1 employee relations with the business leader and HRBP.
• Escalate employee concerns to HRBP or Employee Relations as needed.
• Assist with leave questions and coordinate with HRBP when necessary.
• Drive continuous improvement of HR programs aligned with company values.
• Ensure compliance with company policies at employee and site level.
• Support offboarding for low-risk terminations.

Position Responsibilities May Include, But Not Limited To

• Conduct in person and virtual orientations and process new hires in applicable systems (HRIS, I-9/E-Verify)
• Maintain employee files and records in electronic format
• Serve as the first point of contact for employee/manager questions or concerns about process, policy, procedure, compensation, benefits, and performance or conduct
• Enhance job satisfaction by resolving issues promptly and partnering with HRBP and business leaders on conflict resolution and employee engagement activities
• Handle tier 1 employee relations issues and work towards amicable solutions with the business leader and HR Business Partner
• Evaluate and escalation employee concerns requiring additional intervention to the HRBP or Employee Relations team
• Support employee questions around leave and elevate to the HR Business Partner when necessary
• Drive continuous improvement in HR programs, proactively making recommendations for improvements in a manner consistent with the company’s mission values
• Ensure employee and site compliance with company policies
• Encourage people and culture practices that promote retention of key talent
• Support employee offboarding for low-risk terminations (termination letter, termination processing-HRIS, badge access removal, personal item removal)
• Respond to unemployment claims and fact finding interviews

Required Skills And Experience

• Associate’s degree in Human Resources or related field, or minimum of 5+ years of Human Resources related experience
• Knowledge of general HR practices
• Proven ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and work streams to deliver quality results
• Experience with HR systems to include timekeeping, payroll, benefits, etc.
• Strong customer service skills
• Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail
• Strong presentation and communication skills
• Experience utilizing productivity tools such as Microsoft Office, PowerPoint and SharePoint

Preferred Skills And Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field
• Bilingual (English/Spanish)
• SHRM Certification
• Experience in Manufacturing and/or Healthcare industry

Physical Requirements

• Repetitive motions that include the wrists, hands and/or fingers
• Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting, remaining in a stationary position for prolonged periods
• Visual perception to perform job including peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
