Job summary

Salary Range: $65,000.00 To $70,000.00 Annually

The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for supporting the daily operations of the Human Resources department and fostering a positive, inclusive, and mission-driven work environment. This position provides comprehensive HR support across the employee lifecycle, including personnel transactions, recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, benefits administration, performance management, compliance, and employee engagement.

Working collaboratively with managers, staff, and the HR Business Partner - PEO to ensure that human resources policies and practices are administered consistently and in compliance with applicable organization policies, federal, state, and local employment laws. This role plays a key part in supporting the organization's mission by helping attract, develop, and retain a talented and diverse workforce.

Responsibilities:

Human Resource

  • Partner with department leaders to deliver strategic and operational human resources support that advances the organization's mission, goals, and objectives.
  • Lead the full-cycle recruitment process, including developing job postings, sourcing and screening candidates, coordinating interviews, participating in the selection process, conducting pre-employment testing and background checks, and maintaining applicant tracking records.
  • Design, implement, and facilitate a comprehensive new hire orientation and onboarding program to ensure a positive employee experience.
  • Collaborate with managers to develop, review, and maintain accurate and up-to-date job descriptions for all positions.
  • Prepare and process employment documentation for new hires, employee status changes, compensation adjustments, benefits enrollment, and other personnel actions.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee personnel files, recruitment records, organizational charts, HR reports, and related documentation in accordance with organizational policies and legal requirements.
  • Safeguard sensitive employee information by maintaining the confidentiality, integrity, and security of HR records and data.
  • Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on HR policies, employee relations, performance management, leave administration, workplace accommodations, investigations, corrective actions, and employee separations while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and organizational policies.
  • Administer employee benefits programs and assist with the development, implementation, and communication of HR policies, procedures, training initiatives, and employee engagement programs.
  • Collaborate with Finance to ensure accurate and timely processing of employee compensation, benefits, and payroll-related changes. Will serve as the back-up payroll processor as needed.
  • Partner with the organization's Professional Employer Organization (PEO) to maintain compliance with employment laws and regulations, implement HR best practices, and ensure the accuracy and integrity of the Human Resources Information System (HRIS).
  • Coordinate the employee performance evaluation process, including annual performance reviews, salary increase recommendations, budgeting, manager and employee communications, and related training to ensure consistency and compliance.
  • Identify opportunities to improve HR processes, enhance operational efficiency, and support a positive, inclusive, and collaborative workplace culture.

Office & Building

  • Serve as liaison for property management and building maintenance teams.
  • Schedule and supervise regular repairs, HVAC servicing, plumbing, fire inspection, and electrical work.
  • Maintain workplace safety standards, update emergency exit plans, and ensure first-aid kits and fire extinguishers are up to code.
  • Manage office seating arrangements, coordinate desk moves, and oversee the setup of collaborative workspaces as needed.
  • Track, order, and stock office supplies, kitchen snacks, and basic tech accessories within budget limits.
  • Maintain central digital filing systems, shared team calendars, and internal staff directories.
