Key Responsibilities
Employee Relations
- Act as a trusted, approachable resource for employees and managers across all levels of the organization
- Lead workplace investigations with confidentiality, objectivity, and sound judgment
- Support managers through performance management, corrective action, and termination processes
- Promote a positive, inclusive, and compliant workplace culture
Talent Acquisition
- Own full-cycle recruiting for a range of roles — from operations and compliance to client-facing and leadership positions
- Partner with hiring managers to define hiring needs, build job descriptions, and deliver a consistent, professional candidate experience
- Develop sourcing strategies to attract top financial services talent in a competitive market
- Manage offer negotiations, background screening, and pre-employment requirements common in financial services (e.g., FINRA background checks, credit history reviews where applicable)
Compliance & Employment Law
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws (FMLA, ADA, FLSA, EEO, Title VII, etc.)
- Ensure HR policies, practices, and documentation align with financial industry regulatory standards
- Partner with Legal and Compliance teams as needed on employment-related matters
- Support internal audits and assist with regulatory examinations as they relate to HR records and practices
HR Operations
- Maintain accurate employee records within the HRIS and ensure data integrity
- Administer benefits programs, open enrollment, and leave management
- Update and communicate HR policies and the employee handbook as laws and business needs evolve
- Assist in HR reporting and people analytics for senior leadership
Learning, Development & Onboarding
- Design and facilitate onboarding for new hires, ensuring they understand both company culture and industry-specific compliance expectations
- Coordinate training initiatives including required regulatory and ethics training
- Support performance review cycles and identify development opportunities across the organization
HR Leadership Support
- Serve as a strategic day-to-day partner to the Head of HR, taking initiative on projects that drive the function forward
- Contribute to workforce planning efforts as the company scales
- Represent HR with professionalism and credibility across all departments
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of HR Generalist experience; financial services, banking, fintech, or a similarly regulated industry strongly preferred
- Solid working knowledge of employment law and HR compliance requirements
- Familiarity with financial industry hiring considerations is a plus
- Full-cycle recruiting experience across a variety of role types
- Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive matters with discretion and professionalism
- Strong communicator with the ability to build trust across all levels of the organization
- Proficiency with HRIS platforms (Rippling, Lattice, Greenhouse) and Microsoft Office Suite
- PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certification preferred
- Occasional travel required (less than 10%)
