Location: Onsite in Erie, PA
Responsibilities
- Support the site Employment Leader in performing day-to-day tactical HR operations, including facilitating team member internal movement, external postings, offer letters, data changes, shift and job transfers, and new employee orientation
- Oversee and track leave administration for hourly production workers, including STD/LTD, FMLA, personal leaves, and employee absences that impact operations
- Provide counsel regarding contractual issues, policies, and procedures to establish best practices for the site
- Assist with employee investigations, conflict resolution, and administering discipline to ensure ongoing continuity of daily operations
- Support the site HR Leaders with the administration of grievance procedures and issues arising from collective bargaining agreements disputes
- Gather HR metrics from various sources, including Workday (HRIS), WorkForce Management (payroll), and recruiting and leave tracking portals for data-driven decision-making
- Manage and gather content for HR meetings, site communications, and overall organization of the department to streamline team effectiveness
- Provide advice and counsel to management and employees to ensure consistent application and integration of policies, procedures, and practices
- Respond to employee questions/concerns regarding related HR issues
- Assist the operations team regarding hourly and exempt performance management; provide insight and best practices on performance improvement methods to drive accountability
- Establish and maintain excellent relationships with union leadership
- Administer and support all company HR policies and initiatives within the constituent plants
- Be responsible for the administration of grievance procedures, contract administration with constituent unions, and administration of collective bargaining agreements
- Perform any other additional duties to support the efficiency and effectiveness of the department
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree from a credited university
- Internship in Human Resources
- 3 years of progressive work experience in an office setting
- Experience working with Microsoft Office Suite

- Experience in a union environment
- Background working in Human Resources
- Prior experience with Workforce Management (timekeeping) and Workday (HRIS)
- Excellent time management and organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize work effectively
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills
