Job summary

Owens Corning in North Carolina seeks an HR Generalist to support day-to-day operations including employee relations, recruiting, onboarding, and benefits coordination across Colfax and Stokesdale.

You will counsel leaders, administer HR programs, manage HR data, and partner with COE on payroll, leave, and performance initiatives, while advancing a culture of integrity and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years HR experience in a manufacturing environment.
• 2+ years recruiting experience.
• Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related field preferred.
• Knowledge of employment laws and confidentiality requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide counseling and coaching to employees and management on employee relations and policy application.
• Administer HR programs including compensation, benefits, leave, and performance management.
• Develop partnerships with stakeholders to influence business decisions.
• Identify training needs and coordinate development initiatives.
• Handle recruiting for Customer Service Representative roles from ad creation to onboarding.
• Promote HR programs and support effective team communication across sites.
• Support continuous improvement of HR processes and onboarding.

Job description

The HR Generalist provides support for day-to-say operations as it relates to human resources, which includes employee relations, recruiting & onboarding and collaboration with managing COE partners in benefits, medical & leave administration, and payroll in accordance with company policy. A successful HR Generalist will build sustainable relationships with the employees and leaders within the organization. This role will support our NC locations in Colfax and Stokesdale.

Essential Functions:

• Provides counseling and/or coaching to employees and management regarding employee relation matters and application of company policies, programs and benefits.
• Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, leave administration, disciplinary matters, disputes and investigations, performance and talent management, recognition morale, and training and development.
• Develops and maintains strong business partner relationships with key stakeholders to coach and influence the best business decisions.
• Identifies training and development needs within an organization through job analysis, appraisal schemes and regular consultation with business managers and human resources departments.
• Performs recruiting duties for Customer Service Representative positions including creation of job advertisement, sourcing, interviewing, selection, and onboarding.
• Maintains high visibility to promote HR programs and assist management with effective team communication.
• Provides continuous improvement of HR processes
• Coordinates and/or facilitate employee and manager training on various topics such as DEI, benefit enrollment, and/or compensation processes.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations
• Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
• Ability to manage multiple, competing priorities, facilitate projects and business processes and work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office or related software
• Strong collaboration and problem-solving skills required
• 3-5 years of HR experience involving employee engagement in a manufacturing environment
• 2+ years of recruiting experience
• Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related field preferred
• Knowledge of TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) a plus
• Talent Center experience a plus
