Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Administer employee leave programs (FMLA/ADA) and ensure compliant documentation.
  • Serve as primary resource for employee relations questions and guidance.
  • Manage department invoices and expenses for budgeting and oversight.
  • Coordinate vendor relationships (facilities, cleaning, supplies, first-aid).
  • Support employee engagement activities and recognition programs.

Job Title: HR Generalist (Contract)Job Description

This contract HR Generalist role provides broad human resources support during a defined assignment from October 2026 through January 2027. You will serve as a key member of the HR team, supporting employees, managers, and leadership while helping drive engagement, compliance, and operational excellence. The position focuses on employee relations, leave administration, vendor and facilities coordination, HR programs, employee engagement initiatives, and a variety of administrative HR functions in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
  • Administer employee leave programs, including FMLA, ADA accommodations, and other leave-related processes, ensuring accurate documentation and compliance with applicable policies.

  • Serve as a primary resource for employee relations matters by responding to employee questions, addressing HR-related concerns, and providing timely guidance and support.

  • Manage and track departmental invoices and expenses to support accurate budgeting and financial oversight.

  • Coordinate vendor relationships, including building maintenance, cleaning services, office supplies, and first-aid resources, to ensure a well-maintained and efficient workplace.

  • Support employee engagement activities, recognition programs, and community involvement initiatives to strengthen organizational culture and employee connection.

  • Assist with new hire orientation preparation and onboarding activities, helping create a positive and organized experience for new employees.

  • Administer employee recognition programs, including service awards, recognition platforms, and appreciation initiatives, to promote a culture of recognition and appreciation.

  • Coordinate activities related to year-end employee celebrations and awards programs, ensuring smooth planning and execution.

  • Support security administration by managing badge printing, access management, and related security processes.

  • Conduct HR data audits and maintain accurate employee records to support HR compliance, reporting, and decision-making.

  • Assist with HR compliance and documentation efforts, ensuring policies, procedures, and records align with organizational and regulatory requirements.

  • Support data auditing and reporting activities to provide accurate HR metrics and insights.

  • Provide HRIS and administrative support, including data entry, updates, and system maintenance, as needed.

  • Assist with benefits administration tasks and workers' compensation exposure as needed, in coordination with the broader HR team.

  • Support payroll coordination activities by collaborating with relevant stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely processing.

  • Assist with policy interpretation by helping employees and managers understand HR policies and procedures.

  • Support community outreach programs and related HR initiatives that strengthen organizational presence and engagement.

  • Participate in additional HR projects and administrative initiatives as assigned, contributing to continuous improvement of HR operations.

Essential Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • At least 3 years of Human Resources experience.

  • Proven experience administering FMLA, ADA, and other employee leave programs.

  • Strong employee relations skills with the ability to handle sensitive issues with professionalism and discretion.

  • Demonstrated customer service orientation when supporting employees, managers, and leadership.

  • Experience coordinating events, programs, or employee engagement initiatives.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with strong skills in Microsoft Excel.

  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities independently and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

  • Experience with HR compliance and documentation practices.

  • Experience with data auditing and reporting in an HR context.

  • Familiarity with benefits administration and workers’ compensation exposure.

  • Experience supporting HRIS and administrative HR functions.

  • Ability to interpret and apply HR policies and procedures.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills suitable for interacting with employees at all levels.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • HRIS experience, including data entry, reporting, and system maintenance.

  • Facilities or vendor coordination experience, particularly with building maintenance, cleaning services, and office supply management.

  • Professional HR certification such as SHRM-CP or PHR.

  • Experience supporting recognition programs and employee events, including service awards and appreciation initiatives.

  • Experience with invoicing and expense tracking for HR or departmental budgets.

  • Exposure to payroll coordination processes.

  • Experience with badge access and security systems administration.

  • Experience supporting community outreach programs and related HR initiatives.

Work Environment

This is a temporary, contract-based HR Generalist position running from October 2026 through January 2027. You will work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment as part of a collaborative HR team, supporting employees, managers, and leadership across the organization. The role involves regular use of Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and HR systems such as HRIS and security badge access tools. You will interact frequently with internal stakeholders and external vendors, including facilities, maintenance, cleaning services, and office suppliers. The position combines office-based administrative work, coordination of events and employee engagement activities, and hands-on support for facilities and security processes. The environment emphasizes service, accuracy, confidentiality, and responsiveness while balancing multiple priorities and deadlines.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $24.00/hr.
