Job summary

Columbia University Irving Medical Center is seeking an Human Resources and Faculty Affairs Generalist to coordinate HR/FA tasks for the Basic Science Pod. You will lead weekly updates with HR/FA leadership and support HR transactions across the department.

You will recruit, onboard, and manage payroll processes, time-off tracking, and visa sponsorship, while ensuring compliance and data integrity in systems like PeopleSoft, ServiceNow, TalentLink, Interfolio, and Visual Vault.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent and at least 3 years of relevant HR experience.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities with accuracy and discretion.
• Professionalism, diplomacy, and collaboration across levels.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Recruit staff via Columbia job sites, advertising, and background checks.
• Oversee onboarding of staff, faculty, researchers, and students.
• Manage payroll processing and time-off tracking in PeopleSoft.
• Handle visa sponsorship and immigration-related needs.
• Maintain HR records using ServiceNow and Visual Vault.
