Job summary

Columbia University Irving Medical Center is seeking a Faculty & Human Resources Generalist to support MSPH faculty, staff and stakeholders. The role focuses on processing HR transactions, coordinating TA onboarding, and developing HR tools within a confidential, fast-paced environment.

The position reports to the Senior HR Director, Faculty and HR, and involves cross-team collaboration, process improvement, and timely communications across departments.

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in education and experience plus three (3) years of related experience.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, to support faculty and staff at multiple levels.
• Strong computer skills including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; experience handling confidential information.

Responsibilities

• Review and approve HR transactions for MSPH units including new hires, terminations, and salary/status changes.
• Audit, advise, and manage transactions; provide MSPH level signatory approval when needed; liaise with CUIMC Faculty Affairs and Payroll.
• Oversee end-to-end TA onboarding and coordinate with Office of Education to ensure timely onboarding and accurate system access and pay.
