Salary/Hourly Rate: $100k - $130k
Position Overview: The HR Director will serve as a key resource for employees and leadership, providing hands‑on support across a broad range of human resources functions. This individual will be responsible for employee relations, HR administration, compliance, recruiting, and day‑to‑day HR operations.
Responsibilities of the HR Director:
- Serve as a trusted HR resource for employees and managers at all levels of the organization.
- Manage and address employee relations matters, including workplace concerns, performance issues, conflict resolution, and disciplinary actions.
- Provide guidance to managers and employees regarding HR policies, procedures, and employment‑related matters.
- Support the full employee lifecycle, including onboarding, offboarding, employee changes, and personnel documentation.
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records and HR documentation.
- Administer and maintain the organization’s HRIS and employee data.
- Partner with leadership on HR policies, procedures, and employee engagement initiatives.
- Assist with recruiting, interviewing, and onboarding new employees as needed.
- Support performance management and employee development initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with applicable employment laws and organizational policies.
- Prepare and analyze HR reports and employee data using Excel.
- Assist with benefits administration and other HR programs.
- Identify opportunities to improve HR processes, policies, and the overall employee experience.
- Handle day‑to‑day HR responsibilities in a hands‑on, collaborative environment.
Required Experience/Skills for the HR Director:
- 5+ years of progressive HR experience.
- Strong HR Generalist experience with a broad understanding of HR functions.
- Strong employee relations experience with the ability to effectively communicate with employees at all levels.
- Experience working in a hands‑on HR environment.
- Experience with a major HRIS system.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables and VLOOKUPs.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and positive relationships throughout an organization.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive employee matters.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with leadership and employees.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the HR Director:
- Experience with Paylocity.
- SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification.
- Nonprofit or mission‑driven organization experience.
- Experience as the sole HR professional or primary HR point of contact within an organization.
- Experience supporting an organization with approximately 70 employees.
- Experience developing or improving HR policies, procedures, and processes.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Business Administration, or a related field required.
