We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Human Resources Director to lead and elevate our HR team. If you’re passionate about fostering leadership, developing policies and procedures, and empowering growth through training and development, this opportunity is for you! The HR Director will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing the HR strategy, aligning with our organizational goals. You will be responsible for talent management, organizational development, performance management, training, employee relations, compensation, compliance, and benefits. As a trusted advisor to leadership, you will ensure that HR practices cultivate a productive, compliant, and engaged workforce.
Position Details:
Location: Home-based (Local to MD, DC, VA) – Telework Required
Compensation: Starting at $92K (based on experience)
Hours: 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM, Monday – Friday (Some weekends and extended hours may be required)
Field Work & Travel:25% fieldwork, 25% travel
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Services or a related field, with 7+ years of HR management experience; or PHR/SPHR certification.
Technical Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (intermediate to advanced).
Experience: In-depth knowledge of benefits management, policy development, and recruitment.
Compliance & Legal Expertise: Experience in legal compliance and HR regulations is a plus (OSHA, EEOC, ADA, etc.).
Leadership Skills: Strong leadership, managerial, and interpersonal skills.
Analytical Skills: Expertise in planning, forecasting, project management, and financial budgeting.
Confidentiality: Must maintain the highest level of confidentiality with all HR-related matters.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead recruitment, onboarding, and retention initiatives to attract and retain top talent.
Ensure adherence to organizational policies and procedures, promoting a fair and inclusive environment.
Champion a culture of respect, dignity, and professional integrity for all employees.
Contribute to creating and maintaining a safe and secure work environment.
Maintain strict confidentiality in all HR-related activities, records, and agency information.
Provide training to HR department staff and other teams as needed.
Represent the HR department in meetings such as MACS and other HR/industry-related events and training.
Undertake additional duties as assigned by the CEO.
Physical Requirements:
Regularly required to sit, walk, talk, hear, use hands and fingers for various tasks.
Occasionally required to stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or reach with arms and hands.
Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Vision capabilities include close, distance, color, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
