Job summary

Staples is seeking an HR Delivery Program Manager to lead planning, coordination, and execution of HR delivery programs. You will align HR delivery teams, partners, and vendors to move key people initiatives forward with clear governance and measurable outcomes.

The role requires strong strategic thinking, leadership, and the ability to drive process improvements that enhance employee experience and leadership visibility within a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, Management, Organizational Development, Project Management, or equivalent work experience.
• 7+ years of experience in program management, HR operations, or related function.
• Experience managing multiple concurrent projects and delivering measurable outcomes.
• Experience using Microsoft Office and collaboration tools to prepare executive-level materials while handling confidential information.

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, execution, and governance of HR Delivery programs and initiatives.
• Develop and maintain annual HR operating calendar, project plans, roadmaps, dashboards, and reporting.
• Coordinate cross-functional work across HR Delivery, HR Business Partners, Centers of Excellence, leaders, and external vendors.
• Monitor progress, risks, dependencies, and resource constraints; create mitigation plans.
• Prepare executive presentations, leadership briefings, business reviews, and action tracking.
• Identify opportunities to simplify, standardize, automate, and improve HR processes and employee experience.

You will connect HR Delivery leaders, HR Business Partners, Centers of Excellence, and business stakeholders while building the plans, governance, and operating rhythms that help important people initiatives move forward with clarity and accountability.

What you will be doing:

As the HR Delivery Program Manager, you will lead the planning, coordination, execution, and continuous improvement of HR Delivery programs and cross-functional initiatives. This role offers the opportunity to strengthen how HR work gets done, improve employee and leader experience, and provide the operational visibility that supports informed decisions.

• Lead the planning, execution, and governance of HR Delivery programs, projects, and strategic initiatives.
• Develop and maintain the annual HR operating calendar, project plans, implementation roadmaps, playbooks, dashboards, tracking tools, and reporting mechanisms.
• Coordinate cross-functional work across HR Delivery, HR Business Partners, HR Centers of Excellence, business leaders, and external vendors to maintain alignment and accountability.
• Monitor program progress, risks, dependencies, resource constraints, and delivery commitments; develop mitigation plans as needed.
• Prepare executive presentations, leadership briefings, business reviews, communications, program updates, meeting agendas, decision documentation, and action tracking.
• Identify and implement opportunities to simplify, standardize, automate, and improve HR processes, service delivery, employee experience, and change initiatives.

What’s needed: Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Management, Organizational Development, Project Management, or equivalent work experience.
• 7+ years of experience in program management, project management, HR operations, HR business partner support, organizational effectiveness, or a related business function.
• . Professional experience managing multiple concurrent projects, including developing project plans, tracking deliverables, managing risks and dependencies, coordinating cross-functional stakeholders, and delivering measurable outcomes.
• Professional experience using Microsoft Office and collaboration tools to prepare executive-level presentations, reports, briefings, and communications while managing confidential employee and business information in alignment with data privacy standards and internal controls.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Advanced degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Organizational Development, or a related field; or PMP, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR, Lean, Agile, or equivalent professional certification.
• 3+ years of people management experience leading professional employees or project teams, including support for Vice President-level or senior executive leadership teams.
• Experience in HR Delivery, HR Operations, Shared Services, Talent Management, Employee Relations, HR Business Partner functions, or enterprise-wide HR transformation and organizational change initiatives.
• Experience implementing project management methodologies, governance frameworks, dashboards, reporting tools, AI-enabled tools, workflow automation, or digital productivity solutions in highly matrixed environments.
