Job summary

ATEK Metal Technologies’ New Hampton, IA location is seeking an HR Coordinator to support on-site employees and supervisors. You’ll be the first contact for HR needs, help with recruiting, and lead onboarding to ensure a strong start for every new hire.

You’ll maintain confidential HR records, assist with benefits and leave paperwork, and help coordinate training and company events. This role emphasizes relationship-building and proactive communication across the facility.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of experience in Human Resources, recruiting, customer service, or a related administrative role.
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills—you can explain a policy, answer questions, and build trust with employees at every level.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Sound judgment, professionalism, and the ability to handle confidential information appropriately.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the first point of contact for employee and supervisor questions and everyday HR needs—resolve what you can directly and partner with HR leadership when needed.
• Support recruiting with HR leadership and hiring managers by sourcing candidates, reviewing applications, conducting phone screens and interviews, and helping identify great talent.
• Lead onboarding and orientation to ensure every new employee has a positive and successful start.
• Maintain employee records, HRIS data, and confidential files with a high degree of accuracy.
• Coordinate training records, compliance documentation, and other HR administrative processes.
• Assist with employee support activities, such as benefits administration, leave paperwork, and employment verifications.
• Help coordinate employee recognition, engagement initiatives, and company events.
• Keep communication flowing between employees, supervisors, and HR by staying visible, proactive, and engaged throughout the facility.
