Job summary

The University of Wisconsin–Madison is seeking an HR Coordinator to support the Compensation Center of Excellence within the Office of Human Resources. You will process HR transactions, generate reports, and help ensure policy compliance across schools, colleges, and divisions.

This role emphasizes collaboration, accuracy, and timely delivery of HR data, with opportunities to contribute to workforce analytics and staffing processes in a large, public university environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in an administrative role in a professional office setting.
• Ability to learn HR policies and procedures applicable to UW–Madison and OHR/CCoE.
• Proficiency with database, spreadsheet, and word processing software such as Microsoft Office, Google, and Adobe products.
• Ability to prioritize, organize, and manage time with high attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative support and coordination for HR projects.
• Disseminate HR communications to diverse audiences as directed by leadership.
• Enter, review, and process HR transactions per policies and procedures.
• Create and maintain HR reports, databases, and records for policy compliance.
• Audit and track compliance for HR functions like evaluations, onboarding, offboarding, background checks, and credentialing.
• Serve as a point of contact to employees, managers, and stakeholders; escalate complex issues.
• Schedule logistics and resources for recruitment, onboarding, payroll, and HR activities.
