Job summary

The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston (MFAH) seeks a Human Resources Coordinator, Benefits & Leave Administration, to manage daily benefits and leave processes, worker’s comp, and wellbeing initiatives. Reporting to the Senior HR Manager, you ensure accurate records, timely transactions, and clear employee communications.

You will support onboarding, HR systems, and engagement activities, serving as a backup for the Benefits Specialist and contributing to a mission-driven culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience in HR, employee benefits, leave administration, payroll or related customer-service environment.
• Experience with HRIS data entry, record maintenance, and information retrieval.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day administration of employee benefit programs, leaves, workers’ compensation, and wellbeing initiatives.
• Answer routine benefits questions and process enrollments, changes, and terminations on time.
• Maintain accurate HR records and HRIS data; assist with open enrollment activities.
• Coordinate with benefit vendors and HR colleagues; assist with training and communications.
• Provide backup support for HR functions and employee communications.
