Job summary

Wave is seeking an HR Co-ordinator to provide first-line HR support, drive recruitment and onboarding, and maintain HR records with a strong focus on data accuracy. You’ll work hybrid from Durham, with flexible start/finish times and supportive leadership.

Joining Wave means contributing to a busy HR team, handling sensitive information, and supporting payroll processes and HR projects across the business. CIPD Level 3 is preferred and UK employment law knowledge is essential.

HR Co-ordinator (37 hours per week, Permanent)

Location: Contractual base in Salvus House, Durham with hybrid working opportunities

Salary Range from: £ 26,400 (pro rata) plus a discretionary bonus potential of up to 8% of annual salary

THE ROLE IN A NUTSHELL

As our HR Coordinator, you'll provide first-line HR support to employees and managers across the business, helping to ensure a smooth and professional employee experience. You'll be responsible for a wide range of HR administration, recruitment and onboarding activities, maintaining accurate records, responding to HR queries, and supporting the wider HR team. This is a busy role that would suit someone with solid HR experience, strong organisational skills, and a good understanding of the employee lifecycle.

WHAT WILL YOUR TYPICAL DAY LOOK LIKE?

No two days are the same. You could be responding to employee and manager queries, updating HR systems, preparing reports, coordinating recruitment activities, issuing contracts, or supporting new starters through their onboarding journey. You'll also help maintain accurate HR records, provide guidance on routine HR matters, support payroll processes, and assist with HR projects and employee engagement initiatives.

WHAT DO WE NEED FROM YOU?

We're looking for someone who has previous experience in an HR Coordinator, HR Administrator or similar HR support role, with a good understanding of HR processes and UK employment law. You'll be confident providing first-line HR guidance, managing multiple priorities, and working accurately with sensitive information. A CIPD Level 3 qualification (or equivalent HR qualification) and/or substantial HR experience across the employee lifecycle is essential, along with strong Microsoft Office skills and excellent attention to detail.
