Job summary

Scorpion Therapeutics seeks a Senior HR Compliance Manager to advise HR leadership on employment, immigration, and workforce compliance risks. Develop mitigation strategies and ensure adherence across the company.

Responsibilities include managing immigration programs, overseeing I-9/E-Verify, regulatory reporting, and federal contractor compliance, with audits, policy updates, and continuous improvement in focus.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years HR experience (or 6+ with Master’s) in employment compliance/immigration/HR operations; 1+ years immigration/work authorization; 1+ years regulatory reporting, compliance audits, and federal contractor compliance; 1+ interpreting employment law/policy/training; 1+ vendor/cross-functional project management.
  • Knowledge of U.S. employment laws; employment-based immigration/work authorization; Form I-9/E-Verify; federal contractor compliance (affirmative action, Section 503, VEVRAA).
  • Strong analytics, audit/data, judgment, and confidentiality; excellent communication.
  • Proficient Microsoft Office (Excel/Word/PowerPoint/Outlook/Teams/SharePoint).

  • Oversee I-9 and E-Verify compliance; partner with Talent Management/Acquisition on timely/reliable forms; manage vendor; lead audits and corrective action plans.
  • Prepare and submit regulatory compliance reporting (e.g., CA Pay Data, VETS-4212, pay transparency) with legal/HR and vendors; monitor regulatory changes.
  • Lead federal contractor employment compliance (FAR, Section 503, Davis-Bacon, VEVRAA); coordinate affirmative action plan preparation/implementation and ongoing monitoring/outreach.
  • Monitor regulatory/legislative changes; update HR policies/handbooks, training materials, and intranet policy page.
  • Administer employee mobility (domestic relocations): vendor quality/compliance reviews, benchmarking, and continuous improvement.
  • Create guidance, tools, and trainings; identify/process improvements; other duties as assigned.
