Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business.
• 3+ years in Accounting and Auditing.
• Experience with ERISA/benefits compliance.
• Experience with IRS Form 5500 filings is a plus.
• Knowledge of U.S. benefits regulations (ERISA, IRS, ACA, HIPAA, COBRA).
• Experience supporting SEC Form 11-K filings (Nice to have).
• Experience with HRIS or benefits platforms (Workday, SAP, ADP).

Responsibilities

• Prepare, coordinate, and submit IRS Form 5500 filings for all benefit plans.
• Support SEC Form 11-K filings and align with disclosures.
• Ensure compliance with ERISA, IRS, DOL, ACA, HIPAA, COBRA.
• Maintain Summary Plan Descriptions and SBCs.
• Monitor regulatory changes and update policies and documentation.
• Manage a compliance calendar for deadlines and deliverables.
• Collaborate with TPAs, auditors, legal, and internal stakeholders for timely submissions.
• Assist audits and manage findings and remediation actions.
• Analyze plan data to ensure integrity across filings and documentation.
• Drive process improvements and compliance reporting metrics.

Immediate need for a talented HR Compliance Analyst. This is a 06+months contract opportunity with long-term potential and is located in Charlotte, NC (Hybrid).

Pay Range: $55 - $56/hour. Employee benefits include, but are not limited to, health insurance (medical, dental, vision), 401(k) plan, and paid sick leave (depending on work location).

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the preparation, coordination, and submission of IRS Form 5500 filings across all benefit plans
• Support SEC Form 11-K filings and ensure alignment with financial disclosures
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements (ERISA, IRS, DOL, ACA, HIPAA, COBRA)
• Maintain and update Summary Plan Descriptions, ACA Summary of Benefits and Coverage, and required disclosures
• Monitor regulatory changes and implement updates to policies, processes, and documentation
• Maintain a compliance calendar to track regulatory deadlines and deliverables
• Partner with TPAs, auditors, legal counsel, and internal stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely submissions
• Support internal and external audits; manage findings and remediation activities
• Analyze and validate plan data to ensure integrity across filings and documentation
• Drive process improvements and compliance reporting metrics

Key Requirements and Technology Experience:

• 3+ years of experience in Accounting and Auditing (preferably experience with public company financial statements)
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines with high accuracy
• Experience in benefits compliance, ERISA, or retirement/health & welfare plans (Nice to have)
• Experience managing or supporting IRS Form 5500 filings (Nice to have)
• Knowledge of U.S. benefits regulations (ERISA, IRS, DOL, ACA, HIPAA, COBRA) (Nice to have)
• Experience supporting SEC Form 11-K filings (Nice to have)
• Familiarity with ACA reporting (IRS Forms 1094 B/C and 1095 B/C) (Nice to have)
• Experience supporting audits for employee benefit plans (Nice to have)
• Experience with HRIS or benefits platforms (e.g., Workday, SAP, ADP) (Nice to have)
