Overview
Pride Health is hiring an Employee Benefit Analyst for one of its clients based in Massachusetts. This is a 3-month contract with a possible extension, with competitive pay and benefits. This is a Remote role, but may require going to the office; candidates must be based in Massachusetts. Location: Remote (Springfield, MA). Pay range: $30 - $35 per hour on W2. Length of assignment: 3 months (With Possible extension). Shift: Monday to Friday (8 hours per day, 40 hours per week).

Job Summary
Under the direction of the Manager of Employee Benefits, this role assists with the administration of benefit programs with a focus on health and welfare plans. Assures compliance with all applicable state and federal regulations. Responsibilities include explaining benefits and assisting in the business development and planning of the benefits program. Compiles analyses, reports on employee data, and plans financials for strategic benefits planning and evaluation. Provides benefit plan interpretation, guidance, and counsel to employees, HR colleagues, HRIS representatives, and managers. Presents information to inform and educate management and employees.
Job Duties
- Oversees the administration of the health and welfare plans by working with vendors, plan consultants, the Benefits Team, and the Health Plan Administration Committee. Manages health and welfare plan data errors and inquiries through the vendor portal. Handles bi-weekly payroll reporting, integration file issues, and routine administrative tasks.
- Analyzes benefit plan coverage for health, dental, vision, retirement, life, voluntary benefits, and other insurance coverages.
- Assists in the planning and coordination of benefit delivery on a System-wide basis. Knowledgeable about current benefit trends and legislative requirements, and how they apply.
- Assists in the development of recommendations for policy changes or new programs. Assists with improving existing programs and implementing new programs.
- Counsels employees and managers regarding benefits plans and presents material to various internal groups.
- Creates communication materials including presentation slide decks, Benefits guides, internal email messages, open enrollment-specific materials, flyers, etc. Manages employee communications prepared by vendors.
- Assists the HRIS and I&T Teams with Workday system audits, system testing, and vendor integration file feeds. Manages coordination between the client’s internal stakeholders and vendors when updates are needed.
- Works with HR Service Center and Benefits & Wellness Specialist on complex employee benefit issues and helps streamline processes and communication across teams.
- Responds to Benefit Survey requests for the client and works with consultants on comparative benchmarking analysis of benefit programs against industry peers.
- Serves as the primary client’s contact for vendors and leads on team projects, such as annual open enrollment.
- Provides support and information to consultants and auditors for annual benefit audits.
- Manages Benefits Email Inbox and assists employees with benefits questions through the Service Now ticketing system as subject matter expert.
- Assists with maintaining the annual compliance calendar. Keeps abreast of legislative changes affecting benefits to assist in keeping all programs in compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Oversees the administration and compliance of COBRA by working with third-party administrator.
- Responsible for sourcing data requests necessary to complete government compliance activities (5500s, audits, etc.), employee mailings, vendor billings, consultant projects, and reports for management. Assures processes and procedures are in place to capture and maintain consistent and accurate benefit-related data.
- Prepares and delivers presentations for all levels of management and employees concerning new benefits policies or programs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant fields.
Required Experience
- Must have a solid understanding of and experience with retirement plan administration – 403(b) and 457 non-qualified plans.
- Experience with Workday or other HRIS systems
- 5-8 years or more of experience in Human Resources and Benefits.
- Solid knowledge of employee benefits and regulations affecting them.
- Requires knowledge of basic accounting principles. Intermediate use of spreadsheets to effectively develop analyses.
- Excellent verbal, oral, and written communication skills
- Ability to independently manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong critical thinking and ability to source answers to questions
