Job summary

Texas Department of Transportation’s Human Resources Division seeks a collaborative HR Specialist II to provide classification and compensation support within the HR Programs Section at Stassney Campus. You will assist in preparing and maintaining job descriptions and updating the department’s positions in PeopleSoft HCM.

This role requires two years of HR-support experience, a high school diploma, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; college education may substitute for experience on a year-for-year basis.
• Minimum 2 years of human resources support experience; experience may be full-time or prorated part-time equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license; willingness to drive a state vehicle.
• Preferred Oracle PeopleSoft HCM experience, including Position Management and HR Core modules.

Responsibilities

• Enter personnel actions related to reviews by the classification and compensation team.
• Maintain documents on the HR Programs SharePoint site.
• Assist analysts with position updates for career ladder promotions and other reviews.
• Update organizational charts as needed.
• Create and coordinate publishing of HRD job listings biweekly or more often as directed.
• Maintain and update HR Programs materials; monitor intranet content and publish updates as required.
• Assist in preparing and maintaining job descriptions.
• Retrieve and maintain information from multiple database systems.
• Monitor the group mailbox and handle inquiries; update or inactivate positions as needed.
• Coordinate gathering, publishing, and storage of district and division organizational charts.
