Job summary

Smurfit Westrock in Sheldon Springs, VT, seeks an experienced Human Resources Manager to provide day-to-day HR support for the Missisquoi Mill, including employee relations, talent acquisition, and performance management.

You will lead labor relations, administer the CBA, and partner with leadership to implement HR policies compliant with federal and state laws, while driving improvements in HR metrics. Travel as required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred in HR, organizational development, or business.
• 5+ years HR experience; SHRM/HRCI certifications a plus.
• Strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
• Ability to investigate and resolve employee conflicts objectively using coaching and resolution techniques.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Ability to lead change and influence teams.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day HR support to the Missisquoi Mill.
• Lead employee relations, talent acquisition, performance and talent management.
• Manage labor relations and administer the CBA across unions and shifts.
• Develop HR policies ensuring compliance with EEO, FMLA, ADA, wage and hour laws.
• Oversee recruiting and workforce planning for hourly and salaried roles.
• Coach leaders on employee relations and policy interpretation.
• Analyze HR metrics to identify trends and drive improvements.
• Travel as required.
