Job summary

Hamline University in Saint Paul, Minnesota is seeking a Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) to advise leaders and staff across assigned university areas. This full-time, exempt role partners with HR colleagues to handle employee relations, investigations, compensation, and policy, utilizing Workday and other HR tools.

The position emphasizes collaborative problem-solving, sound judgment, and adherence to federal and state employment laws.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in HR, business, labor relations or related field.
• Five years of progressively responsible HR experience.
• Master’s degree may substitute for up to 18 months if applicant has at least three years and six months of qualifying HR experience.
• Experience with employee relations, workplace investigations, and manager coaching.

Responsibilities

• Advise and coach managers on employee relations, performance, corrective action, workplace concerns, conflict resolution and organizational change.
• Conduct and support workplace investigations with fairness, consistency, careful documentation and sound judgment.
• Support labor relations, including collective bargaining agreement interpretation, grievances and matters involving represented employees.
• Advise on compensation, job classification, organizational structure and internal equity.
• Provide guidance on employment law, HR policy, employee leaves, accommodations and compliance.
• Support workforce planning, recruitment and position development.
• Use Workday, HR data and technology to improve processes and the employee experience.
