Job summary

Macomb County Government is seeking a Human Resources Assistant to support employee benefits administration and pension processes. Under direction, you will use county software to enroll employees, assist with open enrollment, and answer benefit inquiries.

The role handles FMLA, leaves, and payroll and vendor system data, while providing orientation to new hires and retirees about plans and procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with business school or college courses in HR preferred.
• At least 1 year of HR or benefits administration experience.
• 3 years HR or benefits experience preferred; experience with HR data systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Monitor enrollment for medical, dental, and vision benefits.
• Process FMLA, military requests, and other leaves of absence.
• Advise retirees about pension and healthcare options.
• Prepare and maintain benefit data, invoices and reports.
• Assist with open enrollment and data entry for payroll/vendor systems.
