Macomb County Government is seeking a skilled HR/payroll professional to manage position control and wage administration within the Human Resources and Labor Relations department. The role requires precise data handling, confidentiality, and collaboration with finance for budgeted positions.

The position supports auditing pay changes and maintaining HRLR records, with responsibilities spanning onboarding issues and policy guidance to internal departments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• 2+ years HR or payroll experience.
• 2+ years data analysis experience.
• Preferred: Associate’s degree in Business, Accounting or related field.
• Preferred: 3 years data manipulation in Workday and Excel.
• Preferred: 3 years salary administration experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage position control and wage administration tasks with confidentiality.
• Update, monitor, and reconcile the position control system.
• Audit pay changes across HRIS systems.
• Prepare confidential reports for labor negotiations and hearings.
• Collaborate with Finance to verify budgeted positions and adjustments as needed.
• Assist with onboarding and hiring process issues and resolutions.
• Explain HRLR policies and procedures as needed.
