Job summary

The Arizona Department of Public Safety is seeking a qualified Human Resources Analyst to perform professional HR work across recruitment, classification/compensation, test development, employee programs and benefits. The role requires initiative, judgment, and strong analytical skills to resolve complex HR situations.

The position supports ongoing programs and projects, participates in committees, and may travel to fulfill duties.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor's Degree in human resources, business or public administration, or a related field from an accredited college or university.
• Two years of professional human resources experience or four years of paraprofessional human resources experience.
• Ability to interpret, explain, and present HR issues, policies and procedures to diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Interprets, explains, and presents human resources issues, policies and procedures to employees, management, outside agencies, and the public.
• Prepares various reports, charts, memos, correspondence, etc.
• Calculates test scores, final rankings, retirement pension, salary survey results, etc.
• Performs research to respond to employee inquiries and gather information for assignments.
• Maintains files per records retention guidelines and generates computerized lists/reports.
