Job summary

Bristol Hospice is hiring an HR Assistant in Salt Lake City, onsite at our corporate headquarters. You will be the frontline support for employees, oversee onboarding, HRIS data entry, and document audits across multiple locations.

We value confidentiality, accuracy, and proactive problem-solving. Requirements include 1–3 years in an admin/HR-like role, strong MS Office and HRIS skills, and excellent communication.

Qualifications

  • Up to three years in administrative office environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and confidentiality.
  • Knowledge of HR processes, policies, and state/federal labor laws.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and HRIS systems.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first point of contact for employees seeking support and direct inquiries.
  • Guide employees through self-service HR tools and navigate HR systems.
  • Lead onboarding by coordinating post-offer screenings and HRIS requirements.
  • Perform annual background screenings and flag concerns to HR leadership.
  • Maintain accurate employee files and audit readiness across locations.
  • Support HR initiatives including retention programs and ESG projects.

This position is based in Salt Lake City, Utah. Here’s how you make an impact:Serve as the first point of contact for employees seeking support—listening, troubleshooting, and expertly directing inquiries appropriately.Guide employees through self‑service tools and resources, helping them confidently navigate HR systems and direct access materials.Follow and uphold established HR Advisor workflows, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and service excellence across all team operations.Lead the onboarding experience by managing post-offer screenings, coordinating with Talent Acquisition and site leadership, completing HRIS requirements, and ensuring first‑day readiness for every new hire.Partner closely with field Business Office Managers and Specialists to track required employee documentation and verify all certifications are current and compliant with standardized processes.Conduct annual background screenings for staff and medical directors, promptly flagging any concerns to the Regional HR Director.Perform compliance audits as needed and escalate any findings or irregularities to HR leadership.Draft, prepare, and format letters, documents, and presentations, supporting a variety of HR communications and initiatives.Maintain accurate employee files for both home office and field locations, ensuring all information is complete, organized, and audit-ready.Review field documentation to ensure alignment with CHAP standards as well as state and local regulatory requirements.Build strong, positive working relationships with coworkers, leaders, and vendors—serving as a trusted partner who communicates clearly and professionally.Support key HR initiatives, including retention programs, employee engagement surveys, and ESG-related projects.Provide essential HRIS support, including password resets, PAF guidance, and other entry-level system tasks that keep operations running smoothly.Take on additional responsibilities as assigned, embracing a dynamic environment where no two days look exactly alike.Other duties as assignedRequirements:Up to three (3) years working in administrative office environment.Strong attention to detailOne (1) to Three (3) years of experience in Human Resources or in a fast-paced high-volume environment.Knowledge of HR processes, policies, best practices, and State and Federal Labor LawsAbility to maintain confidentiality and discretion at all timesStrong skills in Microsoft office specifically Excel, Word and PowerPoint and in HRISsystemsExcellent analytical and organizational skills, resulting in the ability to problem solve in abusy environmentExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to prioritize, meet deadlines, and good attention to detailStrong customer service skills with a positive attitudeAbility to work self-sufficiently but in a team environmentWe Got the Perks: (full-time benefits)Tuition ReimbursementPTO and Paid HolidaysMedical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, and moreHSA & 401(k) availableMileage Reimbursement for applicable positionsAdvanced training programsPassionate company culture committed to the highest standard of care in the hospice industryJoin a Team that embraces the reverence of life!EEOC StatementBristol Hospice is an equal-opportunity employer.
