Job summary

AV is seeking a Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain system-management software for Linux-based HPC environments. You will build automation for provisioning, configuration, monitoring, security, and day-to-day operations, using Python, Rust, Bash, and container technologies.

The role involves collaborating with systems engineers, cybersecurity, DevOps, and other stakeholders to deliver reliable, scalable services across development and operations life cycles.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph.
• Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline with 5 years of experience, or a Bachelor’s with 7 years, or 9 years of experience in software engineering.
• Experience with Linux CLI and standard Linux tools.
• Proficiency in Bash and/or Python scripting for automation.
• Experience developing software in Linux using Python and/or Rust.
• Experience with containerization (Docker/Podman/containerd).
• Experience using automation frameworks like Ansible for deployment and configuration.
• Ability to develop, test, document, deploy, and sustain software in a mission-focused environment.
• Experience with Git for source-code management.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, integrate, test, deploy, and maintain system-management software for Linux-based HPC environments.
• Develop software using Python and Rust.
• Create tools to automate provisioning, configuration, and management of HPC systems.
• Write Bash and Python scripts to automate tasks and deployment processes.
• Build containerized applications with Docker, Podman, or containerd.
• Develop CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI and Jenkins.
• Automate builds, tests, and security checks; manage releases and documentation.
• Collaborate with systems engineers, cybersecurity, DevOps, and stakeholders.
