Job summary

NorthMark Compute & Cloud (NMC2) in Dallas, TX is seeking an HPC Systems Engineer to join its infrastructure engineering team. You will drive end-to-end HPC infrastructure designs, collaborating across compute, storage, networking, Kubernetes, automation, and data center teams to deliver cohesive platforms.

The role emphasizes design leadership, risk mitigation across domains, and mentorship, with a focus on performance, resiliency, and scalability to support large-scale AI and HPC deployments.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in systems engineering, HPC, or cloud infra.
• Deep domain expertise in at least one infrastructure area.
• Experience with AI/HPC platforms and scheduling tools.
• Strong communication and leadership without direct authority.
• Familiarity with GPU compute, InfiniBand, and Kubernetes.

Responsibilities

• Drive cross-domain technical alignment across compute, storage, networking, Kubernetes, automation, and data center infra teams.
• Lead integrated design reviews for new HPC deployments and platform expansions.
• Identify dependencies, gaps, scalability constraints, and risks throughout delivery.
• Partner with domain teams to define end-to-end architecture and implementation readiness.
• Ensure designs meet performance, resiliency, scalability, and supportability requirements.
• Develop system-level specs for integration and interoperability.
• Participate in failure analysis, resiliency reviews, and readiness assessments before production.
• Collaborate with automation teams to improve deployment consistency and lifecycle management.
• Serve as escalation point for cross-team integration issues and arbitrate architectural tradeoffs.
