Job summary

NorthMark Strategies LLC is seeking a Senior HPC Hardware Engineer to join the Compute Engineering team at our Dallas, TX offices. You will own the full hardware lifecycle for the compute fleet, from bare‑metal provisioning to production validation and capacity planning.

The role requires deep server hardware expertise, automation mindset, and collaboration with software, networking, and vendor teams. Mentoring junior engineers and driving best practices are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent hands‑on experience.
• 5+ years managing large HPC/AI compute infrastructure.
• Expertise in server hardware architecture and components.
• Experience with bare‑metal provisioning and firmware lifecycle.
• Automation tools like Ansible, Puppet or Chef required.
• Proficiency with Redfish and IPMI tooling for remote mgmt.
• Strong Python/Bash/PowerShell scripting skills.
• Familiar with Linux environments and OpenStack Ironic preferred.
• Ability to lead and mentor engineers across teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and manage a large HPC compute fleet (GPU/CPU).
• Own firmware and BIOS lifecycle for HPC/AI nodes from baselines to rollout.
• Lead hardware troubleshooting across CPUs, GPUs, NVSwitches, NICs, and memory.
• Automate health checks and onboarding workflows to speed deployments.
• Validate new AI platforms (NVL72, Grace) for production readiness.
• Collaborate with software, networking, and vendor teams to resolve issues.
• Perform capacity planning and hardware performance analysis.
• Define security hardening for the hardware fleet and IaC practices.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices across the team.
