Job summary

NorthMark Compute & Cloud in Dallas seeks an Emerging Network Architect to design, evaluate, and integrate next‑gen networking for HPC platforms, spanning compute, storage, and networking to translate capabilities into production HPC solutions.

You will benchmark performance, partner with vendors and customers, guide technology choices, and help deploy scalable HPC systems in lab environments and at scale across research and compute workloads.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• Deep expertise in HPC network architectures.
• Hands-on with high-speed fabric solutions (InfiniBand, NVLink, Ethernet RoCE, Omni-Path).
• Expertise in packet switching, routing, flow control, congestion management.
• Understanding of OSU, MPI, STREAM benchmarks and performance modelling.
• Lab bench experience with benchmarks on new hardware.
• Knowledge of distributed storage like VAST and Lustre and impact on networks.
• Proven design experience for HPC clusters with Linux tuning and profiling.
• Experience aligning vendor roadmaps with customer needs in AI/ML, scientific computing, CFD.

Responsibilities

• Explore industry opportunities to leverage future network architectures for HPC metrics.
• Develop partnerships with leading network vendors and incorporate roadmaps.
• Recommend and justify hardware/software solutions for performance and scalability.
• Work with customers to understand workloads and translate requirements into designs.
• Evaluate hardware/software for lab verification and deployment.
• Aid bottleneck identification and performance evaluation for networks.
• Collaborate with storage and compute teams to stitch together complete HPC solutions.
• Provide guidance to internal teams for deploying architectures at scale.
• Stay current on HPC trends, vendors, and emerging ideas.
