Job summary

Muon Space is seeking a Platform Engineer to own the shared technical foundation for our HPC team in San Jose. You’ll manage build pipelines, toolchains, and planning rhythms for FPGA and GPU workloads, delivering lab-ready artifacts across missions.

You will keep the platform coherent, minimize variations, and evolve delivery methods with the team. This hybrid role requires on-site presence three days per week in San Jose, CA with a strong emphasis on collaboration and reproducibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/CE/EE plus 3+ years engineering experience.
• Hands-on FPGA and/or GPU toolchains, simulations, and build pipelines.
• Own build, test, and integration pipelines for hardware-adjacent code.
• Define shared components to reduce mission-to-mission variation.
• Scripting to automate toolchains, pipelines, and reports.
• Fluent with Jira and Confluence; capable of roadmaps and reporting.
• Excellent communication for executives and cross-team stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and evolve the technical build flows, test environments, and delivery and integration pipelines for both FPGA and GPU code.
• Own the toolchain environments and keep them up-to-date, documented, and consistent across engineers.
• Manage the complexity of delivering into a growing variety of future missions, promoting shared components.
• Operate at the intersection of delivery methods and planning methods; keep Jira roadmaps accurate and reportable.
• Publish weekly reports on the team's state of health including successes, risks, blockers, and highlights.
• Own the team's Confluence space and onboarding/training material.
