Job summary

Muon Space is seeking a Platform Engineer to own the shared technical foundation for the HPC team. You will manage build flows, test environments, and delivery pipelines for FPGA and GPU code, enabling fast, lab-ready artifacts and scalable mission delivery.

You will own the toolchain environments, plan across missions, and produce weekly state-of-health reports. The role is hybrid with on-site work in San Jose, CA, three days per week.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field with 3+ years engineering experience.
• Hands-on FPGA and/or GPU workflow development including synthesis/compilation tools, simulation or profiling environments, and build/release pipelines.
• Experience owning or contributing to build systems, test environments, and integration pipelines for hardware-adjacent codebases.
• Ability to manage variation and complexity across multiple products or missions by defining shared components or reference flows.
• Proficient scripting to automate toolchains, orchestrate pipelines, and generate reports.
• Fluency with Jira/Confluence for epics, dashboards, reporting, and roadmap communication.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to make complex work clear.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and evolve build flows, test environments, and delivery pipelines for FPGA and GPU code with reproducible artifacts.
• Own toolchain environments and keep them up-to-date and consistent across engineers.
• Manage mission-to-mission variations by promoting shared components and standard flows.
• Bridge delivery methods and planning; keep Jira roadmaps accurate and provide on-demand snapshots.
• Publish weekly reports on team health for internal and cross-company audiences.
