Job summary

The University of Minnesota is seeking a Senior Help Desk Analyst to provide technical support for faculty, staff, and students using the Minnesota Supercomputing Institute's HPC clusters. You will diagnose issues, guide users, and escalate complex problems as needed.

This hybrid role requires on-campus presence at Walter Library at least four days per week and includes overseeing undergraduate staff, developing user documentation, training, and contributing to open service improvements.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree plus at least four years of experience.
• Master's degree plus at least two years of experience.
• Knowledge of HPC operations, Linux CLI, and job submission.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to users of MSI HPC clusters and related hardware/software.
• Diagnose problems, troubleshoot, and escalate issues as needed.
• Develop user resources and scripted procedures for research pipelines.
• Interview, hire, train, and supervise MSI undergraduate staff at the Help Desk.
• Lead user documentation and automate standard requests to improve efficiency.
• Collaborate with operations to install, service, and maintain hardware.
