Job summary

The Ohio Supercomputer Center (OSC) is seeking a HPC Client Services Student Assistant in the OHTECH department. You will support basic Linux/UNIX tasks, scripting and HPC-related activities while working in a hybrid environment.

The position offers 20 hours per week with a flexible schedule during business hours and a hybrid on-site/remote arrangement on West Campus (1224 Kinnear Road). A background check may be required.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Basic Linux/UNIX skills.
• Experience in scripting and programming (C/C++, Fortran or Python).
• Good written and communication skills.
• Courteous, helpful, professional attitude.
• Experience in high performance computing; more advanced Linux/UNIX, scripting and programming is a plus.

Additional Information

This position offers employment throughout the year, including the summer months and academic breaks.

Work schedule: Flexible during business hours 8 a.m. - 6 p.m. Monday-Friday

Position is hybrid including both on-site and working remotely. May change in future (location is on West Campus - 1224 Kinnear Road)
